THE DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS AT TBPS NEVER EVEN TOLD THE PUBLIC HE WAS ARRESTED
A 52 year old MARK AYLOTT appeared in Plea Court by video from the Thunder Bay Jail today, Wednesday May 26,2021.
Her Honour, Justice Elaine Burton is presiding. Crown Attorney Sherri Frenette & Defence Attorney David Mckenzie are also on the line.
AYLOTT will plead guilty to 2 criminal charges:
- -breach of release order.
On May 16,2021 at 10:15pm , at a house in the 100 block of Gore Street East, MARK AYLOTT cornered a petite, 29 year old woman in a room at the home to get mad at her for the laundry not being done. He began poking her in the forehead with his index finger and then struck her with the palm of his hand across her face approximately 20 times. Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers responded to investigate. The woman told Officers that she almost feinted from all the hits. AYLOTT was arrested.
He spent the night in a jail cell at Balmoral Police Station and was released in Bail Court on May 17,2021 with conditions not to contact the victim.
Within hours of being released, AYLOTT phoned the victim.
AYLOTT phoned the victim again on May 19,2021 to say he was sorry. The victim had enough and hardworking TBPS Officers.
AYLOTT was arrested again and brought to the Thunder Bay Jail.
AYLOTT is asked by Her Honour, if he has anything to say. He tells the court that “the whole thing has been blown out of proportion” and he’s sorry. Justice Burton tells AYLOTT that “women are not your punching bag or laundry service”
Crown & Defence are unable to come up with a joint submission for Her Honour. Justice Burton will decide.
Justice Burton decides that AYLOTT has served a total of 8 days in custody. That wil be enhanced to 12 days of time served. He also receives 12 months of probation with conditions to not contact the victim.
The court heard that the victim is contemplating the idea of leaving Canada because of this and returning to her native Philippines.
AYLOTT will be released from the Thunder Bay Jail today and go live with a relative on Victoria Avenue. He is a truck driver for construction and will be starting a new road construction job in Nipigon starting June 7,2020
AYLOTT has a very short criminal record of 4 convictions now. But, he has one conviction of sexually assaulting a 5 year old girl for which he was convicted in 2007.
MARK AYLOTT IS A REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER
As per usual practice, the Director Of Communications at TBPS doesn’t tell the public about Sex Offenders in our community. He really seems to protect these people instead of victims.
Our city deserves to know who Sex Offenders are.
We deserve a new Director of Communications at TBPS. Not a lazy ad salesman from TBLAZYWATCH.
Local taxpayer subsidized media like TBLAZYWATCH & CBC also won’t tell the public about Sex Offenders.
