Sault Ste. Marie Police Service

SAULT STE. MARIE, ONTARIO  January 11, 2020  (LSN) On January 9, 2020 around 6 p.m. police responded to a call for service in the area of Caledon Street. Upon arrival, officers found a male in critical condition suffering from a gunshot wound. The male, 44 year old John David Jamieson, was transported to the hospital, and later died as a result of his injuries. 

The incident has been deemed a homicide and officers with Investigation Services continue to investigate. We believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
