FRIENDS HAVE STARTED GOFUNDME
THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~ June 28, 2020 (LSN) As some of you may know, the Cross family was in a horrific car accident on the evening of June 20, 2020. Dan, Susan, Kieran, Rhiannon, Deklan and their dog were on the way to the family cabin to celebrate Father’s Day when an oncoming car operated by HOLDEN MASCARIN crossed the center line resulting in a devastating head-on collision. Dan Cross was flown to Winnipeg Regional Health Sciences Center on the night of the accident in life-threatening conditions.
Susan, who also received severe injuries, flew to Winnipeg to be with Dan and he is scheduled to return home to Thunder Bay in the coming weeks. We are eager and excited to have them both back, but it is going to be a long road to recovery. We hope to ease him and the family into a new way of life when he returns home as the injuries are significant and will impact Dan throughout the rest of his life. The family will require various support due to immobility from the severe leg, hip, and back injuries. We appreciate any help to make this a comfortable transition for the Cross family.
The Cross & Johnson family thank everyone for their help during this difficult and challenging time.
Please share and support.
IMPAIRED DRIVING HEAD ON COLLISION CAUSES SERIOUS INJURIES TO INNOCENT FAMILY.
HOLDEN MASCARIN WAS ARRESTED, CHARGED & RELEASED.
Shortly after 6pm Saturday June 20,2020 a two vehicle collision occurred on Dawson Road near Dog Lake Road.
Hardworking Thunder Police Officers responded quickly to find a minivan, travelling with five occupants, and a white SUV, being driven by a lone male, had collided. Both vehicles sustained significant front-end damage.
As a result of their investigation, police learned the SUV was travelling eastbound when it began to cross the centre line of the roadway and collided head-on with the westbound minivan.
During an investigation into the collision an officer detected signs of impairment from the driver of the SUV. A roadside breath test was conducted, the results of which confirmed alcohol was a likely factor in the collision.
Inside Edition sources indicate that the readings were very high.
Blood samples were provided by the accused for further analysis. He may have possibly been under the influence of drugs as well.
All five occupants of the minivan reported sustaining injuries. The driver of the minivan is receiving treatment for possible life-threatening injuries in Winnipeg.
