CHILD PORN OFFENDER ARRESTED AGAIN

CHILD PORN OFFENDER ARRESTED AGAIN

THUNDER BAY POLICE OFFICER ARREST 40 YEAR OLD TONY BARNES AGAIN AT TROWBRIDGE PARK

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~  July 26, 2020  (LSN)   Yesterday, Saturday, July 25, 2020 the hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers received a call about a Registered Sex Offender being near children.

A 40-year-old TONY BARNES was arrested and charged with breaching his prohibition order to stay away from parks and children.

This is the second time that BARNES has been arrested this year by Thunder Bay Police.

BARNES spent the night in a jail cell at the police station on Balmoral.

He appeared in Thunder Bay Bail Court this morning, Sunday July 26,2020 before Her Honour, Justice of the Peace Zelda Kitchekeesic.

Provincial Crown Attorney Andrew Sadler agreed to release BARNES on a $500 no deposit release order to go live with his 74 year old Great Aunt Lilliana Bergamo on Calvert Road in Murillo. That’s right down the road from a school. He’s not allowed computer access or to be around children

His next court appearance is August 18, 2020.

This is the second time this year that BARNES is accused of breaching his Sex Offenders conditions. But the Director of Communications at TBPS has no interest in notifying the public about Sex Offenders. The City Council's and their Police Service Board really doesn’t care about children in our community.

BARNES was also busted by hardworking TBPS Officers in 2013 for being at the Canada Games Complex with 2 young children.

Inside Edition has learned that he also goes by the name Anthony Coceancic and has been on social media trying to purchase diapers from people.

DIRTY DIAPER PERVERT SENTENCED

WINNIPEG — A live-in nanny whose arrest on child pornography charges revealed a disturbing fetish for soiled diapers has been sentenced to 16 months in jail.

Tony Barnes, 30, pleaded guilty to a single count of possession of child pornography.

Police arrested him March 23, 2009, after his boss, a Stonewall mother of three, tried to close his laptop computer and uncovered sexually explicit pictures of young children.

Police secured a search warrant for Barnes's room and found "an abundance of diapers," including a dirty diaper underneath his bed pillow, Crown attorney Terry McComb told court.

The children's parents hired Barnes five months earlier through Nannies International, who provided glowing work references, McComb said.

"The family just thought he was golden, they thought he was great," McComb said.

But a deeper look inside his laptop revealed Barnes was leading a sick double-life online. Police found 63 pornographic pictures of children and hundreds of photos featuring babies or young girls in diapers. They also found a string of online chats in which Barnes freely discussed sexually abusing children, often incorporating the use of soiled diapers.

In an interview with a probation officer, Barnes admitted to wearing diapers until he was four and then again as an adult.

"His sexual interest is readily apparent in wearing the diapers," McComb said.

Barnes has not been accused of abusing children.

"There is no evidence he does any of these things other than it being a fetish in his head ... other than the diapers," said defence lawyer Leonard Tailleur. "The fetish causes people to get in a state of angst."

Barnes claimed to have completed a number of child care programs but no records exist of him attending the schools he said he did, McComb said. Barnes told a probation officer he hopes to return to child care work when he gets out of jail.

"This is an extraordinarily unusual person because of his risk," McComb said, noting most child pornography offenders are considered low risks to re-offend due to the shame associated with the crime. "This individual has an awareness problem that is pretty deep-seated."

Barnes received credit for 11 months time served, which will be deducted from his total sentence. Judge Tracey Lord sentenced him to an additional three years supervised probation and ordered that he undergo a forensic assessment and participate in counseling.

The minimum sentence for possession of child pornography is 45 days in jail.
