JAIL GUARD CHARGED FOR DEALING DRUGS TO INMATES

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~~  May 5, 2021  (LSN)   As reported last night, Tuesday May 4,2021 undercover Thunder Bay Police Officers arrested a Thunder Bay Jail Correctional Officer.

Undercover Officers executed a search warrant at the home of 42 year old ROBERT GORDON in the 200 block of Mercedes Drive, which is just off Mercier Street on John Street Road.

Inside Edition sources indicate that this Correctional Officer has been under investigation since the arrest of another Correctional Officer, ANDY SAIDON last year for allegedly providing contraband & drugs to inmate

ROBERT GORDON is being held in a jail cell at Balmoral Police Station right now and is expected to appear this morning by video in Thunder Bay Bail Court today, Wednesday May 5,2021.

Inside Edition has learned that GORDON has retained the legal services of the infamous defence attorney Nicole Rozier, who specializes in defending drug dealers.

His girlfriend, Correctional Officer Naomi Barclay was interviewed by Thunder Bay Police last night but not charged with anything.

ROBERT GORDON is criminally charged with:

  • -trafficking in Schedule 1 narcotics
  • -possession of Schedule 1 narcotics
  • -breach of public trust.

It is expected that ROBERT GORDON will be released this morning, Wednesday May 5,2021 with several conditions and a future court date. He will most likely not be allowed to work at the Thunder Bay Jail while his charges go through court.

Inside Edition would like to remind the public that the alleged actions of one individual should not paint an entire group.

Thank you to all our hardworking Correctional Officers for the job they do in keeping us safe from the very worst people in our society.

As per usual practice, the Director Of Communications at TBPS  have not told the public yet.

Paying the former ad salesman in excess of 140 000 taxpayer dollars annually has been an abysmal failure for years at TBPS and Chief Sylvie Hauth allows this to continue
