BANANISH has several outstanding criminal charges

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO   ~~~~~~  August 16, 2021  (LSNews)   A 50 year old SHAWN BANANISH appeared by Zoom connection from the Thunder Bay Jail today, Monday August 16,2021 before Her Worship, Justice of the Peace Jennifer Neill in Bail Court.

BANANISH has a criminal record of violence and breaches from 1993-2010

BANANISH has several outstanding criminal charges.

Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers were called on December 25,2020 after a woman complained that BANANISH was sexually molesting her while they had been drinking for almost a week together.

He was arrested & charged with sexual assault.

BANANISH was released with conditions not to contact the victim.

It’s alleged that on staff at Maltese Grocery on Algoma Street phoned Thunder Bay Police on July 26,2021 to complain about 2 people in the store stealing items.

Officers arrived to find BANANISH with the alleged victim of the Christmas 2020 assault. He was charged with breaching his release order by being with the alleged victim.

BANANISH was released today on $500 no deposit bail with conditions:

  • -do not contact victim
  • -no weapons
  • -report to John Howard Bail Verification program
  • -reside at address approved by John Howard.

BANANISH was released and has another court appearance in October.

The Director of Communications at TBPS, along with his local taxpayer subsidized media buddies are refusing to tell the public again

Thunder Bay maintained its title as the murder capital of Canada in 2018,  For the third consecutive year - and the fourth time in the last five years

 It has been announced again that Thunder Bay is the Murder Capital of Canada for 2018 in Canada for CMAs with populations between 100,000 to less than 500,000 people

Thunder Bay had the highest rate in that category with 6.38 homicides per 100,000.

It’s made Thunder Bay the highest per capita opioid death rate in Ontario.

The 44 deaths were a 40 per cent increase from 2017, a year in which Thunder Bay also held the highest provincial rate.

Between July 2017 and June 2018, nearly 3,900 naloxone kits were handed out by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit and local pharmacies, 



Thunder Bay is that the homicide rate for 2017 is down from 2016 when it stood at 6.62 per 100,000
