THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~ January 8, 2022 (LSNews) Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers responded to a 911 call yesterday, Friday January 7, 2022 of a woman who had escaped a violent home invader.
TBPS MEDIA RELATIONS COORDINATOR SCOTT PARADIS REFUSING TO TELL THE PUBLIC
A woman had returned to her apartment in the 700 block of John Street and upon entering her home was ambushed by a male who pushed, punched and bit her. The man then forcibly confined her. She attempted to scream for help, but the man stuck his fingers in her mouth holding her jaw open. She tried calling 911, but the man took her phone and car keys.
The man held the woman captive for 90 minutes.
The woman convinced the man to let her use the bathroom. She locked herself in. She was able to escape and run barefoot through the snow to a neighbour’s house where Thunder Bay Police were called.
TBPS Officers responded quickly and located the suspect.
Officers learned the man has a criminal record and history of violence towards women. They also learned he was on probation & bail with conditions to stay away from this woman.
The man has outstanding charges of violence against the same woman
