38 year old ANDY NICHOLAS JASON SAINDON
THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~ June 25, 2020 (LSN) CORRECTIONAL OFFICER ARRESTED AND RELEASED ON $7500 NO DEPOSIT BAIL
By and large, the members of OPSEU Local 737 which represents Correctional Officers in Thunder Bay are good hardworking people. They are dedicated individuals who live in our city and perform a selfless job representing the dregs of our society.
But, like all organizations, not all members are perfect. The alleged actions of one member should not reflect badly upon an entire organization.
Yesterday, Wednesday June 24,2020 hardworking Thunder Police Officers arrested a Thunder Bay District Jail Correctional Officer amid an ongoing investigation involving criminal Breach of Trust.
A 38 year old ANDY NICHOLAS JASON SAINDON was criminally charged with:
- -Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- -Possession of MDMA (Ecstasy) for the Purpose of Trafficking
- -Trafficking in Tobacco
- -Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling
- -Breach of Trust

Inside Edition sources indicate that SAINDON has retained local defence lawyer Gilbert Labine.
Other sources indicate that SAINDON has a history of violence and drug use.
SAINDON is currently being held in a jail cell at the Thunder Bay Police Station. He is expected to appear by video before His Worship, Justice of the Peace Marcel Donio this morning, , Thursday June 25,2020
Federal Crown Ron Poirier and Provincial Crown Attorney Katrina Van Kessel consented to his release. There are no concerns on primary or secondary grounds. His lawyer Gilbert Labine does not want him to go to the Thunder Bay Jail.
His conditions are:
- -notify police of change of address
- -no possession of drugs or weapons
- -not allowed within 100 feet of the Thunder Bay Jail
Justice of the Peace Marcel Donio called them very serious charges.
Inside Edition would like to remind the public that the alleged actions of one individual should not paint an entire group.
Thank you to all our hardworking Correctional Officers for the job they do in keeping us safe from the very worst people in our society.
