THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO March 1, 2020 - 12:15 (LSN) Police Media Release States: The Thunder Bay Police Service is investigating a sudden death that occurred in the late-night hours of Saturday, Feb. 29 in the zero-to-100 block of Cumberland Street North.
Officers were originally dispatched at about 11:15 p.m. Saturday to the Midtown Inn following reports of an injured female.
A 25-year-old Thunder Bay woman was located and pronounced deceased at the scene.
Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Major Crimes Unit are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death. A scene is being held and a police presence remains in the area.
A post-mortem examination is expected to take place in Toronto on Tuesday, March 3.

Police were alerted to the death after a passerby in the 300-block of Court Street South saw what they believed to be a body around 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020.
When police arrived they confirmed the presence of a deceased person. Members of the service’s Major Crimes Unit are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
