THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO February 3, 2020 - 10:15 (LSN) Police Media Release States: Thunder Bay Police officers with the Break and Enter and Armed Robbery (BEAR) Unit have arrested a suspect connected to a December robbery involving a firearm.
Officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were originally dispatched to the Circle K convenience store at 640 Waterloo Street South just before 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1 following reports of a robbery that had just occurred.
Police learned a male armed with a long gun entered the store with his face covered. The accused pointed the firearm at the store clerk and demanded money. He then fled the store on foot.
On Dec. 1 – thanks to the combined efforts of members of dispatch, the Emergency Task Unit, K9 Unit, Community Response Team, and first-responding Uniform Patrol Branch officers – police located a discarded rifle believed to have been used in the robbery.
As a result of the ongoing investigation by members of the BEAR Unit, police identified a suspect connected to this robbery.
On the afternoon of Friday, Jan. 31, officers located and arrested a 20-year-old Thunder Bay man.
Myron Percy LEBOEUF, 20, of Thunder Bay is charged with:
• Robbery Using a Firearm
• Disguise With Intent
• Possession of Firearm/ Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
• Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
• Pointing a Firearm
• Possession of a Firearm or Weapon Obtained by Crime
LEBOEUF appeared in bail court on Saturday, Feb. 1 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
