Plenty of Soccer Action for Chill this Weekend

at Chapples Park

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~June 9, 2022 (LSNews)  Chill soccer fans have a full slate of soccer games this weekend. The Thunder Bay Chill plays host to expansion club Peoria FC in League Two action on Friday June 10th, 2022. Kick off is 7:00pm at [email protected] Park.

The Chill are presently 1-1-1 good for four points while Peoria FC (2-1-2) is sitting in second place with eight points having played five games.

The Thunder Bay Chill will look to rebound from lasts Friday’s loss to the defending champions Des Moines in what is shaping up to be a battle for second place in the division. The top two teams in the Deep North Division will qualify for the play-offs.

Peoria FC drew 1-1 last Friday at home against St. Croix SC, also an expansion team. They previously beat St. Croix SC on May 22, and have had the same results in two games against the other expansion team of Minneapolis SC. Peoria FC’s only loss has come at the hands of the Des Moines Menace, similar to the Thunder Bay Chill.

“Even though we are early in the season, we have to face this game as a play-off game as they are the opponent, we need to catch to make the play-offs,” commented Head Coach Petraglia.

Five Thunder Bay Chill youth teams will be in action in Thunder Bay at three different venues (St. Ignatius, St. Patrick, and Chapples Park) playing home as part of the Winnipeg Youth Soccer League loop. They will face off against WSEU of Winnipeg. Full schedule of games and locations is listed below. There is no admission charge for youth games.
