MORE SOCIAL HOUSING DRUG BUST
THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~~ July 1, 2022 (LSNews) Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers responded to a call for a welfare check yesterday, Thursday June 30,2022 in Thunder Bay Social Housinf at 1100 Donald Street East. Officers arrived to investigate and learned there was an unwanted black male in the building who was dealing drugs.
Officers located the black male suspect and he was found with almost 20 grams of crack cocaine, a half gram of powder cocaine, and a half gram of fentanyl. Officers also seized $205 in cash. A digital scale was also seized.
A 22 year old black male, KYLE YOUNG was arrested and criminally charged with:
- -possession of cocaine for purpose of trafficking
- -possession of fentanyl for purpose of trafficking
- -possession of proceeds of crime
YOUNG was held overnight at Balmoral Police Station and made a court appearance this morning, Friday July 1,2022 where he was ordered released by Justice of the Peace Jennifer Neil on a $1000 no deposit bail with conditions:
- -no drugs
- -do not attend 1100 Donald Street East
YOUNG has another court appearance on August 5,2022
TBPS Media Relations Coordinator has not notified the public about this drug bust. He also refuses to publish their photos

On May 23, 2017
The governments of Canada and Ontario celebrated the grand opening of 1100 Donald Street East today, adding eight units of affordable housing in Thunder Bay. The Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, and Member of Parliament for Thunder Bay-Superior North, and Honourable Bill Mauro, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Member of Provincial Parliament for Thunder Bay-Atikokan.
The following projects were celebrated:
- Twenty units of affordable housing at 410-412 Victoria Avenue East in Thunder Bay, which received nearly $1.5 million. Eight units are designated for persons with restricted mobility.
- Eight units of affordable housing at 277 Pearl Street in Thunder Bay, received $383,182.
- 1100 Donald Street East today, adding eight units received $383,183 in combined federal and provincial funding
