CRIMINAL FRAUDSTER SENTENCED TO TOTAL 4 MONTHS IN JAIL, PROBATION AND RESTITUTION

WITH PRESENTENCE CUSTODY CREDIT AND STATUTORY RELEASE, SHE WILL BE RELEASED IN ABOUT 26 DAYS

Appearing handcuffed in person in Courtroom 102 Tuesday March 12,2019 is 28 year old KRISTIE LYNN ROSE BOUCHARD

BOUCHARD is a shorter woman wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

His Honour, Justice Dino DiGiuseppe is presiding. Crown Attorney Franceline Auclair is here along with Defence Attorney Michael Hargadon.

BOUCHARD is pleading guilty to fraud under 5000$.

ADMITTED FACTS

On December 11,2018 BOUCHARD had a stolen TD Bank Card from a woman who resides in Oliver Road. It is not known how she knew PIN, but in a very short span of time there was $4351.46 of fraud and cash withdrawals made. Video surveillance from the ATM shows it to be BOUCHARD.

TBPS Officers investigated and identified BOUCHARD. She was arrested on January 17,2019. She’s been held in custody ever since. A total of 53 days. That will be enhanced to 80 days credit.

GLADUE FACTORS AND SENTENCING

BOUCHARD is an indigenous woman. Her mother was an alcoholic and drug addict. BOUCHARD met her father once when he sold her drugs as a teenager. She started using IV drugs at 17 and got on methadone at 22 years of age. She has a lengthy criminal record with a lot of violence. Her last conviction for B&E, fraud and breach landed her a 1 year jail sentence.

Justice DiGiuseppe tells Bouchard that a 12 to 18 month sentence would not have been untoward.

His Honour cedes to the joint submission. A total 120 days in jail minus 80 days enhanced presentence custody. BOUCHARD also receives another year of probation and a restitution order of $4351.46 payable to TD Bank. She’s ordered to stay away from the victim.

BOUCHARD is led out of court to finish serving her sentence.

Another job well done by Thunder Bay Police Officers. As usual, no notification to the public from the Director of Communications at TBPS about this.

Accused woman tells Justice of the Peace reading the charges into court record.

Appearing by video from the Thunder Bay Police Station this morning, Friday January 18,2019 is 28 year old KRISTIE LYNN ROSE BOUCHARD

Justice of the Peace Anna Gibbon is presiding and Crown Attorney Katrina Van Kessel is here along with Duty Counsel.

BOUCHARD was arrested by TBPS last evening and is facing a charge of breaching her bail. She has previous charges of fraud and possession of stolen property along with a very lengthy criminal record.

BOUCHARD is sitting down instead of standing. Her Worship Gibbon is reading the charges to BOUCHARD and the accused interrupts “I already know all this shit”

Bouchard then acknowledges she is waiving the reading of the charges. Crown Attorney Van Kessel is not consenting to her release. BOUCHARD is heading to the Correctional Centre and will make her next court appearance by video from there.
