MAROZZO has outstanding charges related to a 2018 Shuniah robbery


THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~  May 21, 2020   (LSN)  Appearing by video from the Thunder Bay Jail today, Wednesday, May 20, 2020 is 29 years old GEOFFREY MAROZZO.

He’s in Bail Court before Her Worship, Justice of the Peace, Jennifer Neil.

Crown Attorney Gordon Filmore and Defence Attorney David Pierce are on the phone to participate in this contested bail hearing.\

AROZZO has several criminal charges outstanding

It’s a reverse onus situation and the defendant must show why he should be released.

MAROZZO is no stranger to the Thunder Bay Jail. His criminal record starts in 2009.

On May 11,2020 MAROZZO is alleged to have uttered threats to harm a woman. He was charged and released.

On May 13,2020 just past 4pm in the 300 block of Amelia Street MAROZZO is alleged to have been smoking crack and demanded a woman he was with get him a Red Bull beverage. When the woman failed to return with the drink, he became enraged and began choking and yelling at her. The woman called Thunder Bay Police who arrived to investigate. He was arrested for assault.

On September 26, 2018, at approximately 2:43 am, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a robbery that occurred at a residence on Lakeshore Drive in the Municipality of Shuniah.
The OPP report that it was reported that assailants left the residence in a dark coloured sedan. The vehicle was located by police on Oliver Road and a Spike Belt Tire Deflation Device was utilized to bring the vehicle to a stop. One male was located and arrested at the scene, and officers continue to search for people that fled from the vehicle.
Officers from the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Canine Unit and Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to the scene. The OPP Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) was also utilized at the scene.
On September 26, 2018 at 2:10 pm a male was arrested in relation to this incident.

A 20 year old ALEJANDRO INIESTRA-SANCHEZ was arrested and charged with:
* Robbery with Violence
* Disguise with Intent
* Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer
* Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine


A 22 year old LOGAN LUNN from Thunder Bay was arrested and charged with:
* Adult Pointing a Firearm
* Robbery using a Firearm
* Disguise with Intent
* Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer
* Assault with a Weapon

On Friday May 1,2020 the Ontario Provincial Police charged 25 year old JORDAN AGOSTINO after a lengthy investigation into that September 2018 robbery.
* robbery
* pointing a firearm
* careless use of a firearm
* possession of a loaded firearm
* unauthorized possession of a restricted/prohibited firearm
* wearing a disguise with intent
* uttering threats

MAROZZO is alleged to have been in possession of the stolen property from the robbery and obstructed OPP Sargent Roger Gagne in his investigation by aiding the alleged robbers who went to his house after escaping police.

MAROZZO has a criminal record of property offences, drug offences, breach court orders X 5, dangerous drivingas, assault with a weapon on a pregnant woman and criminal harassment towards women. His last conviction was 2019.

Defence Attorney Pierce knows this is going to be tough, and he goes straight to the top of the bail ladder with his plan. He proposes full house arrest with mother BONITA MAROZZO as the surety.

Mom states that it’s “The end of the line and time for him to straighten his act up and be an adult”

Crown Attorney Fillmore has significant questions about his Mother’s ability to properly supervise her son since he breached previously and has a criminal record of breaching. MAROZZO’s father Angelo previously paid $500 in bail estreatment for his son’s breach.

Her Worship, Justice of the Peace Jennifer Neil heard all the submissions and also has concerns about supervision.

She wants another surety for MAROZZO.


MAROZZO will be released when another surety gets approved.
It will be $1000 no deposit
-no weapons
-full house arrest
-can only leave house with a surety present.
-police compliance checks.
-must live with parents at their home on Ontario Street.
-no contact with victims or coaccused

His next court appearance is July 24, 2020
