THUNDER BAY POLICE INVESTIGATION OF THREE MORE CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS
THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~ June 26, 2020 (LSN) It was a hectic day for the hardworking Correctional Officers at the Thunder Bay Jail today, Friday, June 26, 2020.
The antiquated and constantly overcrowded facility has been on lockdown all day due to a staff shortage. Inmates have been confined to their cells all day and there has been limited movement. Hardworking officers are doing the best they can with the limited numbers of staff present.
There have been several tense situations at the jail including a Code Blue medical emergency. Tension amongst the inmates is higher than normal today.
Inside Edition has learned that Thunder Bay Police are currently investigating more Correctional Officers at the Thunder Bay Jail after one Correctional Officer, ANDY SAINDON was criminally charged this week after he was found with drugs and more than $20 000. Sources indicate that more arrests MIGHT be coming for their association with ANDY SAINDON
It’s important to remember that the majority of Correctional Officers with OPSEU Local 737 are honest, hardworking men and women in our city. They look after the absolute worst criminals in our society all while working in abysmal & unsafe working conditions.
This majority deserves our support as efforts to remove the few bad apples are made by local authorities.
This is a developing story and will be updated when information becomes available.
