DRUG DEALERS BUSTED OUTSIDE THUNDER BAY SOCIAL HOUSING

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~   March 30, 2022  (LSNews)  Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers received several calls from concerned citizens yesterday, Tuesday March 29,2022 about a male & female selling drugs in a black GMC Sierra while parked outside Thunder Bay Social Housing at 76 Cumberland Street South

Officers arrived & approached the vehicle.  They noticed a female passenger holding a crack smoking bong with drugs in it.

When Officers got the male driver out of the vehicle, a quantity of crack cocaine was in between his feet.

Drugs & cash were seized.  Both individuals were arrested.

A 33 year old MICHAEL BILLY PETER TYANCE was criminally charged with:

  • -possession of cocaine for purpose of trafficking
  • -possession of proceeds of crime

A 42 year old CHANTEL SUZANNE BOUCHER was criminally charged with:

  • -possession of cocaine for purpose of trafficking
  • -possession of proceeds of crime
  • -breach of release order (possess drug paraphernalia)
  • -possession of cocaine

The court heard that BOUCHER hit her head while in the jail cell in Balmoral Police Station and will need medical attention. She is being remanded into custody at the Thunder Bay Correctional Center and has another court appearance this week.

BOUCHER has several outstanding criminal charges.

Both individuals were held overnight at Balmoral Police Station and made video court appearances today, Wednesday March 30,2022

TYANCE was ordered released on $250 no deposit bail by Justice of the Peace Jennifer Neill.

TYANCE has conditions:

  • -reside at 101 Ironwood Avenue
  • -no contact with CHANTEL BOUCHER
  • -no weapons
  • -no drug paraphernalia

TYANCE has another court appearance in May 2022

Unfortunately, TBPS Media Relations Coordinator Scott Paradis hasn’t told the public about this bust.

Editors Note
The residents of 76 South Cumberland street need to be commended along with the responding police officers
It is too bad the residents of Welfare House do not get the same support from City Council and the Police Service Board which at the same time City Council's Drug Committee workers against them by refusing to Stigmatize Drug Use
