THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~~   June 10, 2021  (LSN)     Hardworking Thunder Bay Police arrested a French-speaking, crack smoking car thief yesterday, Wednesday, June 9, 2021.

On June 3,2021 a man reported his 2004 yellow Toyota Echo stolen from Santorelli’s Truck Stop at 3131 Arthur Street West. The Director of Communications at TBPS never told the public about the stolen vehicle

Hardworking TBPS Officers were called at 9:48 am yesterday, Wednesday, June 9,2021 by Casino Security on Cumberland Street regarding a 2004 yellow Toyota Echo with Quebec licence plates.

TBPS Officers arrived to find the stolen vehicle and called a tow truck. While waiting for the tow truck, TBPS Officers observed a 47 year old DANIEL LAUZON of Calgary, Alberta enter the vehicle, start it up and drive away.

TBPS Officers initiated a traffic stop immediately and arrested a 47 year old DANIEL LAUZON for possession of stolen vehicle.

While travelling to Balmoral Police Station, Lauzon was very hyperactive and couldn’t stop talking. He told TBPS Officers he was smoking crack cocaine. He was also charged with impaired driving.

LAUZON was held overnight at Balmoral Police Station and appeared in Bail Court today, Thursday June 9,2021 before His Worship, Justice of the Peace Bruce Leaman.

It was a very lengthy court appearance which required a French interpreter.

Provincial Crown Attorney Stella Vallelunga agrees to release LAUZON on a $500 cash deposit bail with conditions:

  • -not contact owner of vehicle
  • -not operate motor vehicle
  • -no drugs

BUT, THERE’S A PROBLEM!

LAUZON DOES NOT HAVE THE MONEY.

LAUZON will be transported to the Thunder Bay Jail and be held there until he gets $500.

As per usual practice, the Director Of Communications at TBPS and his local taxpayer subsidized aren’t telling the public about this.

THE DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS AT TBPS NEVER TOLD THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE STOLEN CAR OR THE ARREST
