on Pearl Street

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~  May 28, 2020 (LSN)  Yesterday, Wednesday May 27,2020 Thunder Bay Police Servic officers spotted a stolen 2006 Mercedes ML 350 travelling on Pearl Street

Officers made a traffic stop shortly after 12:30 pm and arrested career criminal 26 year old JAMIE JOSE DACOSTA of Thunder Bay. 

DACOSTA spent the rest of the day and night in a jail cell at the TBPS Station on Balmoral Street. 

He appeared by audio this morning before His Worship, Justice of the Peace Bruce Leaman 

DACOSTA is facing new criminal charges of:

-possession of stolen property over $5,000

-breach of probation x 3

He has outstanding criminal charges from May 12 & 13,2020 of 

-theft under $5000
-fraud under $5000
-breach of probation X 4

DACOSTA has had numerous criminal convictions in the past. Some of his convictions are for robberies and break and enters. 

Provincial Crown Attorney Katrina Van Kessel is not consenting to the release of DACOSTA 

DACOSTA was transported to the Thunder Bay Jail shortly before 1pm today. 

His next court appearance is June 3,2020
