VICTORIA STREET HOME INVASION BY DRUG DEALERS WITH A HANDGUN

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~  July 23, 2022 (LSNews)  Inside Edition has learned that hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers responded to a home invasion yesterday, Friday July 22,2022 at 913 Victoria Avenue East.

Officers learned that two drug dealers had broken in to the home and the male suspect had a handgun

TBPS MEDIA RELATIONS COORDINATOR SCOTT PARADIS REFUSING TO TELL THE PUBLIC AGAIN

Officers arrested a white male suspect & a white female suspect.

Officers also seized a quantity of pills believed to be methamphetamine & antihistamine.

The handgun on the male suspect turned out to be a imitation BB gun.

Both suspects were brought to Balmoral Police Station.

A 39 year old white female, SARAH ALATYPPO was criminally charged with:

  • -possession of methamphetamine for purpose of trafficking
  • -possession of antihistamine for purpose of trafficking
  • -unlawfully in a dwelling house
  • -mischief

A 43 year old white male, IANNICK GOULETTE  was criminally charged with: -possession of methamphetamine for purpose of trafficking

  • -possession of antihistamine for purpose of trafficking
  • -unlawfully in a dwelling house
  • -break and enter with firearm

Inside Edition has learned that ALATYPPO was transported to the Thunder Correctional Center & GOULET was transported to the Thunder Bay Jail today, Saturday July 23, 2022

They both have court appearances this upcoming week.

SERIAL SHOPLIFTER ARRESTED BY THUNDER BAY POLICE OFFICERS

Appearing by video this morning, Friday March 15,2019 from TBPS Station on Balmoral is 35 year old SARAH ALATYPPO

His Worship, Justice of the Peace Thomas Logan is presiding. Provincial Crown Tamara Fairchild is present along with Duty Counsel Sandy Stewart.

ALATYPPO is facing new charges of theft from Canadian Tire on December 14,2018 and breaching her probation.

She also has outstanding theft charges from Mac’s and Metro in 2017 as well as theft from Sears in 2016.

The Crown is not consenting to her release. ALATYPPO is headed to the Correctional Center and will make a video appearance on Monday in Bail Court.

Murders Thunder Bay vs other Ontario Cities

Thunder Bay maintained its title as the murder capital of Canada in 2018,  For the third consecutive year - and the fourth time in the last five years

 It has been announced again that Thunder Bay is the Murder Capital of Canada for 2018 in Canada for CMAs with populations between 100,000 to less than 500,000 people

Thunder Bay had the highest rate in that category with 6.38 homicides per 100,000.

It’s made Thunder Bay the highest per capita opioid death rate in Ontario.

The 44 deaths were a 40 per cent increase from 2017, a year in which Thunder Bay also held the highest provincial rate.

Between July 2017 and June 2018, nearly 3,900 naloxone kits were handed out by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit and local pharmacies, 

 

 

Thunder Bay is that the homicide rate for 2017 is down from 2016 when it stood at 6.62 per 100,000
