MAN WHO POINTED LOADED CROSSBOW AT TBPS OFFICER SENTENCED TO ONE YEAR IN JAIL

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~ July 23, 2022 (LSNews) A 39 year old DWAYNE DUSTIN OOMBASH appeared in person today before Justice Danlyn Mckinnon to plead guilty to numerous crimes.

On January 22,2022 at 3:45pm DWAYNE OOMBASH was stealing DVD’s at the Walmart located at 1020 Dawson Road.
OOMBASH was confronted by a security guard about his stealing and OOMBASH punched the security guard four times and left the store.
Hardworking TBPS Officers located OOMBASH at 4:16pm in an unsecured trailer behind the Walmart. OOMBASH came to the door of the trailer with a loaded orange crossbow pointing it at TBPS Officers.
Officers were able to make the arrest without anyone getting injured. OOMBASH gave TBPS officers a false name. OOMBASH was on probation, had a weapons prohibition & was wanted on warrants.
OOMBASH is guilty of:
- -assault with a weapon
- -point a loaded weapon at police
- -obstruct TBPS Officer
On February 7,2022 OOMBASH was at the No Frills in County Park Mall stealing items when confronted by a security guard. OOMBASH told the security guard “You wanna test me?” He then attacked & punched the security guard. Several law abiding citizens stepped in to help and detain OOMBASH. TBPS Officers arrived and arrested OOMBASH who gave the false name of Keith Winters. OOMBASH told TBPS Officers “Blah blah blah, go fuck yourselves”.
OOMBASH was out on bail and on probation at the time.
OOMBASH is guilty of:
- -assault security guard
- -obstruct police
- -breach of probation
OOMBASH is a band member of Mishkeegogaming Reserve aka Osnaburgh. His parents didn’t take care of him and he went through several foster homes as a child. He has a criminal record that starts in April 2001 and continues for over 20 years.
OOMBASH has spent an actual 166 real days in custody at the Thunder Bay Jail where he caught Covid twice. That 166 days will be enhanced to 239 days.
The joint submission is for 12 months custody. That would leave OOMBASH with 126 days left to serve. OOMBASH will be statutorily released in less than three months.
OOMBASH is given an opportunity to address the court and he states “I’m taking steps with social workers and counsellors to stop doing the same things over & over.”
Justice McKinnon sentences OOMBASH to 12 months minus time served plus 12 months probation. Her Honour also orders another weapons prohibition of 10 years and another DNA order.

Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers responded to a call yesterday, Saturday October 16,2021 in the 100 block of Picton Avenue regarding a man who forced his way into a woman’s home to assault her.
Officers arrived quickly to arrest a man who has a criminal record of violence against women.
A 38 year old DWAYNE OOMBASH was criminally charged with:
- -assault (female)
- -breach of probation (no contact with victim)
- -unlawful entry
OOMBASH spent the night at Balmoral Police Station and appeared by phone in Bail Court today, Sunday October 17,2021 before Her Worship, Justice of the Peace Shiree Scribner.
Crown Attorney Heather Bracken tells the court that OOMBASH requires supervision in order to be released due to his criminal record of violence against women.
OOMBASH was transported to the Thunder Bay Jail and has another court appearance tomorrow.
TBPS Media Relations Coordinator Scott Paradis & his boss, TBPS Director of Communications Chris Adams aren’t telling the public again. They don’t seem to care much about protecting women in our city.
MAN ARRESTED FOR FORCIBLE ENTRY INTO THUNDER BAY PUBLIC HOUSING IS RELEASED TO GO LIVE WITH HIS COUSIN IN THUNDER BAY PUBLIC HOUSING.
Last night, Saturday June 27,2020, the hardworking Officers with Thunder Bay Police arrested 37 year old DWAYNE DUSTIN OOMBASH.
On Friday June 26,2020 OOMBASH is alleged to have committed a forcible entry while on probation into a Thunder Bay public housing unit in the 100 block of Picton Avenue.
OOMBASH spent the night in a jail cell at the Thunder Bay Police Station.
He appeared by video in Thunder Bay Bail Court today before His Worship, Justice of the Peace Marcel Donio.
OOMBASH is facing criminal charges of:
- -forcible entry
- -breach of probation by coming into contact with a victim of his.
Provincial Crown Attorney Stella Vallelunga agrees to release OOMBASH as long as he has a residence.
Duty Counsel Joy Wakefield advises Her Worship that OOMBASH will go live with his cousin Olivia at a unit in 66G Limbrick Street.
His Worship Donio has concerns about releasing him to stay in Thunder Bay Public Housing for which he is not listed as a resident.
But Duty Counsel Joy Wakefield tells the court that OOMBASH has permission to stay there, but she did not confirm with officials at Thunder Bay Public Housing.
His Worship reluctantly orders OOMBASH released from custody with conditions based on the information from Wakefield.
His next court appearance is September 4,2020.
OOMBASH is an unemployed father who does not have custody.
As per usual practice, the Director Of Communications at TBPS has not notified the public. He really has no interest in doing his job. He’s paid over 135 000 taxpayer dollars annually and has struggled to perform since he’s gotten the position. His previous job was an ad salesman for TBLAZYWATCH. But Police Chief Hauth allows this poor performance to occur day after day. Leadership is required at 1200 Balmoral Street.
