DRUG DEALER ARRESTED FOR RAPE IN BURLINGTON

THUNDER BAY, BURLINGTON, ONTARIO  ~~~~~  June 26, 2022 (LSNews)  A man on bail with a history of drug dealing was arrested for rape in Burlington yesterday, Saturday June 25,2022

Hardworking Burlington Police Officers have criminally charged a 29 year old black male, JAHZEIGH STEPHENS with:

  • -sexual assault\

STEPHENS is on bail & has outstanding drug dealing charges in Thunder Bay.  His matter will be in Thunder Bay court this upcoming week.

HARDWORKING THUNDER BAY POLICE MAKE LARGE DRUG BUST 

Police have determined the estimated street value of drugs seized in two incidents last week totalled nearly $225,000.

The seizures were the result of an investigation into drug trafficking activity that led to a pair of warrants being executed by the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Intelligence Unit, assisted by the OPP – Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and TBPS K9 Unit, on Thursday, October 29,2020

The first warrant was executed at a hotel room in the 400 block of Memorial Avenue just before 5:30 p.m. There police located a quantity of Fentanyl, Cocaine, and suspected fake Percocet pills potentially containing Fentanyl.

During their search an accused arrived at the scene and was arrested after initially attempting to flee from police.

A second warrant was executed at a residential address in the 1500 block of Oliver Road at about 9:50 p.m. Police arrested three accused individuals at that location and seized a quantity of cocaine, a quantity of Fentanyl, more than $27,000 in cash and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

A 27 year old JAHZEIGH STEPHENS of Mississauga, is charged with:

  • • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • • Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

A 50 year old JOSEPH YVAN BILL BLAIR of Thunder Bay is charged with:

  • • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • • Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

A 20 year old SYDNEY KATHRINA EGEBERG of Thunder Bay is criminally charged with:

  • • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • • Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

A 26 year old DAJSHON JAVON STEWART of Toronto, is charged with:

  • • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • • Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • • Resist Peace Officer
  • • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • • Possession of an Identity Document
  • • Failure to Comply with a Judicial Release

All four accused appeared in bail court on Friday, Oct. 30 and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.

Thunder Bay maintained its title as the murder capital of Canada in 2018,  For the third consecutive year - and the fourth time in the last five years

 It has been announced again that Thunder Bay is the Murder Capital of Canada for 2018 in Canada for CMAs with populations between 100,000 to less than 500,000 people

Thunder Bay had the highest rate in that category with 6.38 homicides per 100,000.

It’s made Thunder Bay the highest per capita opioid death rate in Ontario.

The 44 deaths were a 40 per cent increase from 2017, a year in which Thunder Bay also held the highest provincial rate.

Between July 2017 and June 2018, nearly 3,900 naloxone kits were handed out by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit and local pharmacies, 

 

 

Thunder Bay is that the homicide rate for 2017 is down from 2016 when it stood at 6.62 per 100,000
