This show what a dangerous place TBay is to live in.
THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~ December 1, 2020 (LSN) Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers were called to the 200 block of Vickers Street South on the evening of October 18,2020 regarding a rape that had just occurred. TBPS Officers responded quickly to find a young female victim who had just been raped. She had been drinking alcohol in an apartment with a 39 year old JOHN CHARLES BOYCE & CHARLES BOYCE JR. They young female had drank too much alcohol and passed out.
The young female woke up to both men sticking their fingers in her vagina. This caused her vagina to bleed. She asked both men to stop digitally penetrating her. The woman retreated to a bedroom where a drunk JOHN CHARLES BOYCE climbed on top of her and raped her. He wore a condom as he raped her.
She was able to flee after being raped and contact police.
TBPS Officers investigated and located the accused men immediately. Blood stains were found on the bed. TBPS Officers also located the condom used to rape the woman. The victim was brought to Thunder Bay Hospital for medical & investigative purposes. It’s alleged that JOHN CHARLES BOYCE admitted to TBPS Officers that he had non consensual sex with the woman.
BOTH MEN WERE ARRESTED
JOHN CHARLES BOYCE was criminally charged with:
- -sexual assault X 2 (fingers and penis in vagina)
- -breach of probation order dated October 7,2020
JOHN CHARLES BOYCE was just released from jail 11 days prior to this rape on probation when he plead guilty to mischief, failure to attend court and breaching bail conditions.
Despite being arrested for this rape, the Director of Communications at TBPS never told the public about this horrific crime. Boyce has been in custody at the Thunder Bay Jail since his arrest.
BOYCE HAS A LENGTHY CRIMINAL HISTORY OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
His record is long with numerous convictions of violence and failing to attend court. The majority of his criminal convictions occurred in Thunder Bay and his home reserve of Fort Hope.
JOHN CHARLES BOYCE appeared by phone in Thunder Bay Bail Court today, Tuesday, December 1, 2020 before His Worship, Justice of the Peace Bruce Leaman.
BOYCE’s sister, SHERRY BOYCE proposed herself as a surety to try get him released on bail. It was determined that she was not a suitable surety. She lives in a public housing unit in County Park and the housing supervisor does not want an unapproved tenant living there with Sherry Boyce or her 5 children.
A 39 YEAR OLD JOHN CHARLES BOYCE REQUIRES AN APPROVED SURETY
Justice of the Peace Bruce Leaman rules that BOYCE can be released if he gets an approved surety. There will be a $700 no deposit bail pledged, $350 on accused and surety.
BOYCE’S conditions are:
- -reside with surety
- -no weapons
- -no drugs
- -no contact with victim or CHARLES BOYCE JR (co-accused)
- -no alcohol in body outside residence
- -report every Thursday to TBPS once released
He will try get his mother in Fort Hope to be an approved surety.
His next court date is December 17,2020
His co-accused CHARLES BOYCE JR is also awaiting an approved surety to be released.
As per usual practice, the Director Of Communications at TBPS is not telling the public about rapists in our city.
