Plenty of Soccer Action for Chill this Weekend

at Chapples Park

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~June 9, 2022 (LSNews)  Chill soccer fans have a full slate of soccer games this weekend. The Thunder Bay Chill plays host to expansion club Peoria FC in League Two action on Friday June 10th, 2022. Kick off is 7:00pm at [email protected] Park.

The Chill are presently 1-1-1 good for four points while Peoria FC (2-1-2) is sitting in second place with eight points having played five games.

The Thunder Bay Chill will look to rebound from lasts Friday’s loss to the defending champions Des Moines in what is shaping up to be a battle for second place in the division. The top two teams in the Deep North Division will qualify for the play-offs.

Peoria FC drew 1-1 last Friday at home against St. Croix SC, also an expansion team. They previously beat St. Croix SC on May 22, and have had the same results in two games against the other expansion team of Minneapolis SC. Peoria FC’s only loss has come at the hands of the Des Moines Menace, similar to the Thunder Bay Chill.

“Even though we are early in the season, we have to face this game as a play-off game as they are the opponent, we need to catch to make the play-offs,” commented Head Coach Petraglia.

Five Thunder Bay Chill youth teams will be in action in Thunder Bay at three different venues (St. Ignatius, St. Patrick, and Chapples Park) playing home as part of the Winnipeg Youth Soccer League loop. They will face off against WSEU of Winnipeg. Full schedule of games and locations is listed below. There is no admission charge for youth games.

WYSL Home Schedule this Weekend
The Chill are back in full swing participating in the Winnipeg league. The Chill have five teams participating this season consisting of the U13 Boys, U13 Girls, U15 Girls, U16 Boys, and U17 Girls. Full league schedule and standings can be found on the league website by clicking here:

WYSL League Standings & Schedule Four Chill teams will be making a trip across the border to participate in the AllAmerican Cup. The Chill are sending the U10 Boys, U10 Girls, U11 Girls, and U12 Boys. Full schedule and results can be found below

Inside Edition sources indicate that around 10pm that evening, a male in his 40’s was walking near the Boys & Girls Club on Windsor Street and through the pathways to Sequoia.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~  September 24, 2022 (LSNews)  A 35 year old JEFFREY MCNALLY appeared by phone from the Thunder Bay Jail in courtroom 105 today, Friday September 23,2022 where he learned the Crown Attorney was withdrawing his most recent drug possession charges because the quantity was so low.

MCNALLY still has outstanding charges of failing to attend court, breach of probation and uttering threats to cause bodily harm from an incident on June 17,2022 at 12:22 when he allegedly threatened a Community Service worker at 420 John Street.
