Former TBay Journalist exposes Ontario’s lockdown hypocrisy with footage of PACKED Toronto airport

TORONTO, ONTARIO  ~~~~~~   December 26, 2020 (LSN)  The footage raises questions for many about how legitimate and/or effective Ontario's lockdown rules are.

The footage raises questions for many about how legitimate and/or effective Ontario's lockdown rules are.

Joe Warmington, reporter for the Toronto Sun, put up footage of a packed Pearson airport on Saturday on Twitter: Jor Warmington started his career in Journalism at the Daily Times Journal in Thunder Bay, Ontario

"Ontario’s #COVID19 extreme lockdown measures that closed retail stores, restaurants ans scuttled Christmas Dinners and Boxing Day sales does not apply to @TorontoPearson Airport. Nor is it enforced"

The video shows a long long line of people coming from  being processed at the security line so they can board their flights at Toronto's international airport.

It is obvious that the distance between any of them is never anywhere close to 2 metres recommended by social distancing guidelines.

As Warmington points out, "these lines were longer than you would normally see on Dec. 26 outside of any store."

This in turn raises questions for many about how legitimate and/or effective Ontario's lockdown rules actually are.

Toronto and Peel Region, as of Saturday Dec. 26, along with many other of the more populous regions of the province, are once again under total lockdown, meaning that all "non-essential" businesses have been forced to shut down again, and people are not allowed to visit other people at their homes.

The lockdown will remain in effect for 28 days in southern Ontario and for 14 days in Northern Ontario, and will be similar to the harsh measures initially enacted in March.
