THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~ November 19 (LSN) Last evening, Wednesday November 18, 2020 hardworking TBPS Officers were called near 8pm to a residence in the 100 block of Varsity Place after a landlord was pushed by his verbally abusive tenant.
Officers knocked on the tenant’s door and the accused opened the door screaming at police and swinging at officers with a closed right fist.
OFFICERS MADE THE ARREST AND HAD TO CARRY OUT A VERY UNCOOPERATIVE CRIMINAL
A 31 year old MICHAEL THOMAS DEARTH was criminally charged with:
- -Assault
- -Assaulting a TBPS Officer x 2
- -Resist TBPS Officer.
DEARTH spent the rest of the night in a jail cell at Balmoral Police Station and appeared by audio before Her Worship, Justice of the Peace Denette Ellard.
DEARTH was released on conditions to stay away from victim and the residence.
His next court appearance is December 22,2020
