Former TBay Councillor Charge with Attempted Murder

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO November 15, 2019 - 14:30 (LSN)  Police Media Release States:  Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to a residential address in the 400 block of Vickers Street South just before 3:15 p.m. following reports of a disturbance.

When police learned an altercation had taken place within the home they were dispatched to.

During this altercation, a male attacked another individual inside the home. The victim was also threatened during the attack.

The victim was able to flee to a neighbouring home and called 911. The male accused was subsequently arrested.

Lawrence John William HEBERT, 72, of Thunder Bay is charged with Attempted Murder.

The accused appeared in bail court Friday and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date of Dec. 16, 2019.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO November 14, 2019 - 16:45 (LSN)  Police Media Release States:  Thunder Bay Police Service officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding a serious incident that took place in the 400 block of Vickers Street.

Officers were dispatched to a disturbance call just before 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14. Police are now investigating.

There is no ongoing public safety concern as a result of this incident.

No other confirmed details are available at this time. Further updates will be provided to the media.

INTERNATIONAL FALLS, MINNESOTA October 24, 2019 -  (LSN)  U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations officers at the International Falls Port of Entry stopped a BMW sedan for further inspection on Oct. 17.  CBP officers inspected the vehicle with a K-9 and found 135 grams of cocaine.  CBP officers seized the cocaine and turned it over to the Koochiching County Sheriff’s Office along with the man driving the vehicle, who is a Canadian citizen.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO October 24, 2019 - 13:45 (LSN)  Police Media Release States:  Thunder Bay Police Service officers spotted a vehicle driving through an alley at a high rate of speed on the city’s southside at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Officers with the service’s Traffic Unit were on McKenzie Street when they noticed the vehicle cutting through a back lane and heading southbound between Cummings and Bethune Streets.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO October 23, 2019 - 13:45 (LSN)  Police Media Release States:  The Thunder Bay Police Service has laid new charges against one of four arrested following a recent disturbance involving a firearm after learning an accused male impersonated Demitri Austin GREEN. An investigation has revealed the accused male’s real identity is Jatorri WILLIAMS, 19, of Toronto, and he used the identity of GREEN to obstruct police and avoid prosecution of other offences.

Officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were originally dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Pearl Street just before 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20 following reports of a disturbance. The disturbance was believed to involve a break in and a firearm.

Officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were originally dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Pearl Street just before 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20 following reports of a disturbance. The disturbance was believed to involve a break in and a firearm.

Suspects fled the area before police arrived on scene.

SAULT STE. MARIE, ONTARIO  October 21, 2019  (LSN) On October 19, 2019 officers with the Patrol Services and Investigation Services Units of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 31-year-old Justin Tessier for aggravated assault.

On October 18, 2019, officers responded to a call of a confrontation between two male individuals in the area of Albert Street East and Bruce Street. One male was found to be in critical condition and was transported to the hospital.

SAULT STE. MARIE, ONTARIO  November 21, 2019  (LSN) Members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are actively looking for 28 year old Caleb Seaton and 32 year old Tyler McMillan in connection with a kidnapping and assault with a weapon, involving a firearm. 

On November 8, 2019 the victim entered their residence in the 100 block of Huron Street around 2:00 a.m. At that time they were confronted by three individuals with firearms. The victim was taken by gunpoint from their residence, and driven to an undisclosed area.

Police Service officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were originally dispatched to 139 Dease Street around 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8 following reports of a shooting that had just occurred.
