THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~~  September 8, 2021  (LSNews)  A four-month investigation into a drug distribution network affecting communities across North West Region has resulted in the seizure of nearly 2 kg of cocaine as well as quantities of other illicit substances including crack cocaine, prescription pills, crystal methamphetamine, psilocybin and fentanyl. A network of 14 individuals with are facing numerous Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and Criminal Code charges.

When police arrived to investigate, they found several children inside the home who had and learned that they were left with 5 unknown men.

NORTHERN, ONTARIO    ~~~~~~~~  September 5, 2021  (LSNews)  Violent crime is on the rise in Canada’s urban centres, while police forces are increasingly stretched thin. In May, the National Police Federation representing the Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s (RCMP) 20,000 members called for increased resources and new police officers to be hired to deal with increasing gang violence in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. In Toronto, instances of gun violence increased by 42 per cent between 2015 and 2019. Conservatives believe the time to act is now to secure our communities.
