COOK County Board Extends Local State of Emergency

Commissioners voted to extend indefinitely

COOK COUNTRY,  MINNESOTA  May 19, 2020   (LSN)  At today’s meeting for Discussion and Action Related to COVID-19 Pandemic Response, the Cook County Board of Commissioners voted to extend indefinitely its declaration of a local state of emergency related to the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19.

Cook County Emergency Management Director Mike Keyport requested the extension as part of the county’s emergency operations response to COVID-19.

SUDBURY, ONTARIO  ~~  mAY 18, 2020  (LSN)  round 2:20 a.m.  Wednesday, May 13, 2020, we were called in relation to an animal in distress at an apartment complex on Edmund Street in Greater Sudbury.

Upon arrival Officers were met by the individual who called in the complaint indicating that there were kittens in the dumpster located on the apartment complex property. The kittens could be heard crying and moving inside of the dumpster.

SUDBURY, ONTARIO  ~~~   May 15, 2020  (LSN)  Overnight, Officers from our Central Community Response Unit and Patrol Operations Officers conducted focused patrols to address the ongoing issues of Theft from Motor Vehicles, Property Thefts and Break and Enters in specific residential areas. Based on Crime Analytics, the Officers focused on areas that had been identified as having a high volume of Theft from Motor Vehicles and Residential Break and Enters.

Body found off highway 527

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO May 15, 2020 (LSN)  On the 13th of May 2020, at approximately 3:00pm officers of the Thunder Bay OPP detachment responded to a report of human remains in the Wasp Road area which is an Unorganized area north of Highway 11/17 and west of Highway 527. The remains were located by a forest area worker and reported to the police.

BLAINE, WASHINGTON,   May 14, 2020 (LSN)  U.S. Customs and Border Protection, in coordination with Homeland Security Investigations-Immigration and Customs Enforcement, arrested a man and seized nearly 134 pounds of cocaine, with an estimated value of $3 million, at the Pacific Highway Port of Entry on Saturday.
