Deadwolff Rock Thunder Bay on July 8

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~  June 23, 2022  (LSNews)  Deadwolff is a New Wave of Heavy Rock n’ Roll three-piece band based out of Toronto, ON. Founded in 2020, Deadwolff is composed of Tommy Wolffe, on bass and vocals, Bobby Deuce, on guitars and backing vocals, Angus Pike on drums.

In late December of 2020, Boonsdale Records released the band’s debut EP digitally. Shortly after, Deadwolff signed with Metal Assault Records, based out of Los Angeles, and released their debut EP on cassette, which sold out quickly.

Their video for the single “Double up” was also released prior to the cassette and can be viewed on several youtube channels.

The concert will have local support from Wrong Odds, Shatterhorn, and the Selfies. 

Vox Popular Media Arts Festival is co-hosting this event to promote its upcoming festival September 8th to the 11th at the Definitely Superior Art Gallery! 

The 18th Annual Vox Popular Media Arts Festival is taking place from September 8th to the 11th in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The event will be held at the Definitely Superior Art Gallery in the old Cumberland Theatre at 115 Cumberland St N, Thunder Bay, ON P7A 4K8 The festival will feature films of all genres from Northwestern Ontario, Canada and Internationally. There will be concerts, performance art, and a visual art exhibition, Q&As and discussions with the artists to share knowledge, ideas, and experiences. Select films and performances will also be available online during and after the festival.

Deadwolff is here to rock Thunder Bay on July 8th at Black Pirates Pub, co-presented by Vox Popular Media Arts Festival.

A 30 year old ANDREW ALLAN POST was charged with manslaughter by Thunder Bay Police.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~  August 28, 2022 (LSNews)   The Thunder Bay Police Service is conducting a sudden death investigation following the discovery of a deceased person on the city’s southside Sunday.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to an area near Duncan and Dock Streets just after 2:20 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28 after a 9-1-1 caller reported finding the apparent body of an adult male.

Dock street runs along the Kam River from where the James Whalen sunk to the Rowing club and Oligives Elavator

FORT FRANCES OPP ARREST BEAR SPRAY ATTACKER

FORT FRANCES, ONTARIO ~~~~~ August 28, 2022 (LSNews)  Hardworking Fort Frances OPP Officers responded to a call regarding a bear spray attack early this morning, Sunday August 28,2022. 

Officers attended a residence in the 1000 block of Second Street East shortly after 3am and learned a woman had her back door kicked in and a man unloaded bear spray in her home then fled on foot. 

OPP Officers patrolled the area and located the male suspect in an alleyway. The white make suspect was arrested.  OPP also learned the man was wanted on a warrant for another bear spray attack.

SIOUX LOOKOUT,  ONTARIO  ~~~~~~   August 28, 2022 (LNews)  Hardworking Sioux Lookout OPP Officers received a call about child abuse early this morning, Sunday August 28,2022. 

Officers attended a room at the Forest Inn at 11 May Street shortly after midnight to investigate.  It’s alleged that an intoxicated, middle aged man had invited some young teenagers under 16 back to his hotel to do drugs.  The teenagers allegedly went back to the hotel with the man where they were given shots of vodka. It’s alleged the middle aged man then began groping one of the teens

grabbing her breasts and feeling another one. It’s further alleged the man grabbed a young male’s crotch wanting to know how big his penis was.

It’s alleged that an impaired driver caused an accident and fled the scene.  

OPP Officers arrived quickly and located the suspect driver and vehicle.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~~   August 28, 2022 (LSNes)  Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers arrested a drunk driving suspect after a brief chase yesterday through the city.  

It’s further alleged that the suspect had assaulted another male with a knife. 

After conducting the traffic stop, it’s alleged the driver failed a field sobriety test and later blew over the legal limit on the breathalyzer at Balmoral Police Station.

COOK COUNTRY, MINNESOTA   August 28, 2022  (LSNewsWith the return of in-person schooling for the children of the community, we at the Cook County Sheriff’s office want to take this time and offer some tips for school traffic safety.

The current drop-off and pick-up areas for ISD 166 including Great Expectations are located on County Road 7, also known as 5th Street between the Gunflint Trail and 4th Avenue West. Thanks to the hard work of Andrea Orest of the Safe Routes To School committee and Robbie Hass from the Cook County Highway Department, the speed zone in this area has been officially set at 20 MPH during school hours.

NEMES was wanted since June 3,2022 on a bench warrant for failing to attend court on criminal charges of impaired driving & breach of release order.

Teacher charged with Sexual Assault

Former Administrator at St. Charles College Arrested and Charged with Criminal Negligence

SUDBURY, ONTARIO ~~~~~  August 27, 2022 (LSNews)  ,Kaitlyn Dunn, Corporate Communications Coordinator, Greater Sudbury Police Service in a media release shared. 

On August 25, 2022, through the ongoing investigation, Detectives from the Major Crime Section of our Criminal Investigation Division, arrested 56 year old Michael Zanier in relation to additional complaints of inappropriate behaviour and touching involving students under the age of 16. Due to the sensitive nature of the incident and in order to protect the Survivors’ identities, no further details will be provided.

As a result of the investigation into the conduct of the 56 year old Teacher from St. Charles College who has been charged with multiple sexual offences related to inappropriate behavior and touching of students under the age of 16, Detectives from the Major Crime Section of our Criminal Investigation Division have arrested and charged a former Administrator at the school. Due to the sensitive nature of the incident and in order to protect the Survivors’ identities, no further details will be provided

WEBEQUIE, THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  August 27, 2022 (LSNews) Hardworking Nishnawbe Aski Police Officers at the Webiquie First Nation were busy again this week investigating an arson on a multi-unit housing complex at 137A on the reserve. 

NAPS Officers investigated this arson and arrested an indigenous male suspect yesterday, Friday August 26,2022.
