WASHINGTON, DC   -  April20, 2020 (LSN)  In response to inaccurate and misleading claims that have been reported, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) today released the following statement in order to correct the record: “CBP is disappointed in recent inaccurate claims about CBP operations during this health pandemic. Despite the false rhetoric, CBP has implemented a proactive, multi-layered approach to minimize our employees’ exposure to COVID-19 as they fulfill CBP’s critical national security mission.

TBFR extinguishes late night blaze at N. Cumberland

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~  April 18, 2020  (LSN)  At approximately 12:45 am last night (April 19/2020) Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to a dispatched fire alarm ringing at a Laundry facility located in the 200 block of a N. Cumberland St. strip mall facility. Upon arrival, initial crews reported smoke and fire located visibly in the interior of the front side of the retail store front. The on-scene TBFR Incident Commander requested a full second alarm to respond to the scene as well.

NIPIGON, ONTARIO ~~  April 18, 2020  (LSN)  The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Nipigon Detachment is requesting the public's assistance in locating a missing woman.

Alyssa TURNBULL, 26 years of age of Gillies Township (Thunder Bay area) was reported missing on April 14, 2020 at approximately 2:50 p.m. She is described as 5'3" (160 cm), 100 lbs (45 kg) with shoulder length blonde hair and blue eyes. Alyssa may have changed her hair colour to purple or red.

GRAND MARAIS, MINNESOTA  ~~~~  April 13, 2020   (LSN)  At 1:19 pm today, Cook County’s 911 Dispatch received a report of a fire in the back of the Crooked Spoon Café located on Wisconsin Street in downtown Grand Marais.

Volunteer Firefighters from the City of Grand Marais, Maple Hill Fire Department, Lutsen Fire Department and Colvill Fire, were needed to battle the blaze which spread to neighboring businesses Picnic & Pine and White Pine North on Wisconsin St, fully engulfing the buildings.
