Outdoor service to celebrate end of the worst of the Covid 19 pandemic
Waverley Park Sunday
THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~ June 10, 2022 (LSNews) Members of Thunder Bay’s United Churches will gather in Waverley Park this Sunday to celebrate the end of the worst of the Covid 19 pandemic.
The celebration will take the form of a special open-air church service at the Waverley Park pavilion. The service will begin at 10:30 am. Everyone in Thunder Bay is welcome.
In addition to celebrating the perseverance of the people of Thunder Bay throughout the pandemic, speakers will give thanks to the health care professionals and front line workers who helped all of us make it through the difficulties of the past two and a half years.
Thanks will also be given to the vision of the leaders within the United Church who developed a unique, Thunder Bay-based video-conferencing and streaming technology. That technology allowed Sunday worship services to continue even as churches remained closed because of provincial pandemic rules against gathering.
The technology has now been adopted for use by churches all across Canada.
