Update Ontario /TBay Restricted Fire Zone

cannot have an outdoor fires outdoor fire grate, fire place or fire pit

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~  April 2, 2020 (LSN)  Update  Effective at midnight tonight, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue has issued a fire ban on all outdoor burning within the City of Thunder Bay.  The ban on outdoor burning is consistent with the recent Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests Restricted Fire Zone declaration.

Residents are reminded that all outdoor burning permits are suspended when a fire ban is in effect.  Any outdoor burning during a fire ban will result in prosecution and substantial fine. We appreciate the community’s cooperation and Thunder Bay Fire Rescue will advise when the fire ban and suspension of permits is lifted.

TORONTO, ONTARIO  ~  April 2, 2020 (LSN)  Starting April 3, 2020, Ontario's entire legislated fire region will be designated a Restricted Fire Zone. Residents who live in an area with a restricted fire zone cannot have an outdoor fire—this includes burning of grass, debris and campfires, even when using an outdoor fire grate, fire place or fire pit

The Ontario government is taking action to protect people and communities from the risk of preventable human-caused fires and to ensure that the province's emergency response system remains strong during the COVID-19 outbreak.
