TBPS OFFICERS FACE BARRICADED DOOR IN ATTEMPT TO RESCUE

Female who was overdosing at the home on Mantou Street

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  November 23, 2021  (LSNews)  Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers were busy busting more drug dealers this early this morning, Tuesday November 23,2021

TBPS Officers were responding to a female who was overdosing due to excessive drug use at the home on Manitou Street around 3am. 
DRUGS & CASH SEIZED AT HOME OF SHELLEY HAMILTON

Officers arrived to find the doors barricaded but ultimately gained entry.

A 37 year old DAVID OVID JANVEAU of Thunder Bay was criminally charged with:

  • -obstruct TBPS Officer by barricading door with woman in medical distress
  • -possession of proceeds of crime
  • -possession of fentanyl for purpose of trafficking
  • -breach of probation

A 24 year old black male JASON JASPER DACOSTA of Toronto was criminally charged with:

  • -obstruct TBPS Officer by barricading door with female in medical distress
  • -possession of proceeds of crime under $5000
  • -possession of cocaine for purpose of trafficking

A 20 year old Asian male, KYAH EH DOE of London, Ontario was criminally charged with:

  • -obstruct TBPS Officer
  • -possession of proceeds of crime under $5000
  • -possession of cocaine for purpose of trafficking

DOE has a criminal record with charges from the Chatham & London area

A 47 year old SHELLEY ANN HAMILTON was criminally charged with:

  • -Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • -Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000
  • • Obstruct Peace Officer by barricading door
  • • Failure to Comply with Release Order

All were held overnight at Balmoral Police Station and appeared by phone in bail court before Her Worship, Justice of the Peace Jennifer Neill.

Federal Crown Attorney Justin McConnell would not consent to the release of any of these individuals. They were all remanded into custody at the Thunder Bay Jail.
