Anishinabek Police Service Officers

PIC MOBERT FRIST NATION  ~~~~~~  February 25, 2021  (LSN)  Hardworking Anishinabek Police Service Officers have made an arrest for a disturbing sexual assault at the Pic Mobert Indian Reserve. 

Local teenagers often use a vacant home on 9th street in Pic Mobert for drinking. It is alleged that at approximately 4am on Sunday February 21,2021 that an 18 year old TALAS MCWATCH was giving alcohol to a young female teenager at that vacant home that belongs to his cousin. It’s further alleged that MCWATCH then raped the young female when she became intoxicated. 

Sources in Pic Mobert indicate MCWATCH lured the young woman to the home with alcohol and later bragged to other community members about this rape. 

Hardworking Anishinabek Police Officers investigated and arrested MCWATCH on Wednesday February 24,2021 and charged him with sexual assault. 

MCWATCH was released on an $500 no deposit undertaking by APS with conditions. 

• -must reside at an apartment on Hemlo Drive in Marathon 
• -abide by an 8pm to 8am curfew
• -no contact with the victim 
• -must report weekly to the APS
• -notify APS of any change of address 

MCWATCH has a court appearance in Marathon on April 8,2021

Residents in Pic Mobert are frustrated with the amount of sexual abuse in the their community. There are at least 2 Band Councillors who are Registered Sex Offenders.
