DRUNK WOMAN CAUSING TRAFFIC PROBLEMS ARRESTED BY TBay POLICE SATURDAY
WOMAN WAS SENTENCED BY COURT ON FRIDAY
THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO September 18, 2022 (LSNews) Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers responded to a call yesterday afternoon, Saturday September 17,2022 regarding an intoxicated woman on foot causing chaos by being drunk in the middle of a roadway.
Officers responded quickly to find a very familiar suspect who was just sentenced and released from the Correctional Center on Friday.

A 39 year old VERONICA GWENDOLYN THOMAS was criminally charged with:
- -breach of probation (Keep peace & be of good behaviour)
THOMAS was held overnight at Balmoral Police Station overnight to sober up and ordered released on $100 no deposit bail this morning, Sunday September 18,2022 by Justice of the Peace Nancy Tulloch.
THOMAS has another court appearance on October 21,2022

A 39 year old VERONICA GWENDOLYN THOMAS appeared from the Thunder Bay Correctional Center by phone today, Friday September 16,2022 before His Honour, Justice Mark Bode to plead guilty to several crimes as part of a plea deal.
THOMAS was intoxicated in the ambulance bay at Thunder Bay Hospital on June 12,2022 with a female paramedic trying to help her. THOMAS pulled a beer out of her jacket and began drinking it. The paramedic took away her beer and this enraged THOMAS who then pulled out a knife and told the paramedic “I’m gonna cut you bitch”
The knife was taken away and TBPS Officers arrested THOMAS who was on bail & probation.
THOMAS is guilty of:
- -carry knife for purpose dangerous to public
- -utter threats to cause bodily harm
- THOMAS was intoxicated outside the Shelter House on George Street on August 3,2022 when she smashed a mirror on the Shelter House van.
THOMAS is guilty of:
THOMAS is the fifth of nine children. Both her parents attended residential school. Both of her parents then went on to get University degrees. Her father was a successful Director of Education in Fort Severn. Her mother was a Director of Family Services in Fort Severn. They are both since deceased. THOMAS has a 13 year old child that she does not have custody of. THOMAS has alcohol issues and a criminal record that starts in 2000.
THOMAS has served a total of 72 real days in jail. This will be enhanced to 108 days. Both Crown & Defence are proposing a sentence of time served plus 12 months of probation. A 5 year weapon prohibition plus DNA order are also submitted for His Honour to consider.
THOMAS has nothing to say when given the opportunity.
Justice Bode accepts the joint submission and THOMAS is being released from custody today.

Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers responded to a call of an intoxicated woman breaking smashing a mirror at the Shelter House yesterday, Wednesday August 3,2022
Officers arrived quickly and located their suspect who was heavily intoxicated and on bail with conditions not to be outside while intoxicated
A 38 year old VERONICA GWENDOLYN THOMAS has been criminally charged with:
- -breach of probation
- -breach of bail X 2
THOMAS was held overnight at Balmoral Police Station and made a court appearance this morning, Thursday August 4,2022
THOMAS is being transported to the Thunder Bay Correctional Center and has another court appearance tomorrow.
