THU NDER BAY, ONTARIO  May 18, 2022  (LSNews)  A 39 year old DANIEL ANTILLA appeared by video from the Sudbury Jail today, Wednesday May 18,2022 before Justice of the Peace Frank Valente to plead guilty to a few crimes.

ADMITTED FACTS

On February 11,2022 ANTILLA’S mother/surety phoned Thunder Bay Police to inform them that her son was not home at 8pm as per his bail conditions. A warrant was issued for his arrest for breaching conditions, but TBPS Media Relations Coordinator Scott Paradis never told the public.

ANTILLA is guilty of breach of release order

Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers were on patrol on February 14,2022 at 3:45am when they spotted a suspected stolen white Hyundai Elantra speeding down Simpson Street at 71 km/h.

Officers initiated a traffic stop and learned the vehicle was no longer reported as stolen. The driver identified as Samantha Scott and the passenger gave TBPS Officers a false name. The passenger was DANIEL ANTILLA and was under bail conditions not to be in contact with Samantha Scott and also wanted on a warrant.

ANTILLA is guilty of fraudulent impersonation & breach of release order.

JOINT SUBMISSION

ANTILLA states he has had a comfortable stay at the Sudbury Jail. The joint submission is for 90 days of custody.

Justice Valente accepts the joint submission and sentences ANTILLA to 90 days of time served. However, a detention order remains in place for outstanding charges related to a violent home invasion  and ANTILLA will stay in custody.

His next court appearance is on Friday May 20,2022

WOMAN RUNS BAREFOOT THROUGH SNOW TO ESCAPE VIOLENT HOME INVADER

TBPS MEDIA RELATIONS COORDINATOR SCOTT PARADIS REFUSING TO TELL THE PUBLIC

TBLAZYWATCH & CBC ARE ALSO REFUSING TO TELL PUBLIC

Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers responded to a 911 call yesterday, Friday January 7,2022 of a woman who had escaped a violent home invader.

A woman had returned to her apartment in the 700 block of John Street and upon entering her home was ambushed by a male who pushed, punched and bit her. The man then forcibly confined her.  She attempted to scream for help, but the man stuck his fingers in her mouth holding her jaw open. She tried calling 911, but the man took her phone and car keys.

The man held the woman captive for 90 minutes.

The woman convinced the man to let her use the bathroom. She locked herself in.  She was able to escape and run barefoot through the snow to a neighbour’s house where Thunder Bay Police were called.

TBPS Officers responded quickly and located the suspect.

Officers learned the man has a criminal record and history of violence towards women. They also learned he was on probation & bail with conditions to stay away from this woman.

The man has outstanding charges of violence against the same woman

A 39 year old DANIEL ANTILLA was arrested and criminally charged with:

  • -assault woman
  • -theft (cell phone,car keys & ID)
  • -breach of probation
  • -breach of bail
  • -unlawfully in dwelling house
  • -unlawful confinement
  • -prevent woman from calling for help

ANTILLA was held overnight at Balmoral Police Station.  He appeared by video in Bail Court today, Saturday January 8,2022 before Justice of the Peace Shiree Scribner who ordered ANTILLA released on $1000 no deposit surety bail with conditions:

  • -reside with mother/surety Marie Bailot at her home in 1300 block of Mountdale Avenue
  • -curfew of 8pm to 6am
  • -no contact with victim

ANTILLA has another court appearance in February.

TBPS Media Relations Coordinator Scott Paradis is refusing to tell the public again. He doesn’t really care when women are terrorized in their own homes. His buddies at TBLAZYWATCH care even less about victims of crime.
