CONVICTED KILLER ARRESTED BY SIOUX LOOKOUT OPP

RELEASED BY COURT TO LIVE IN THUNDER BAY

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~~  July 24, 2021  (LSNews)   Hardworking Sioux Lookout OPP Officers were busy yesterday.

Officers on patrol noticed a large group of people in front of 73 King Street standing in front of a No Trespassing sign drinking alcohol.

Officers were concerned because of patrons attending a nearby grocery store.

One male in particular was extremely intoxicated and causing a disturbance. He attempted to flee and resisted arrest.

At the OPP detachment, the man uttered threats to kill an OPP Officer and bragged about killing someone before.

A 34 year old PETER JOHN DEAFY was criminally charged with:

  • -causing a disturbance
  • -utter threats to kill OPP
  • -resist arrest

DEAFY spent the night in custody at the OPP detachment and appeared by phone in Thunder Bay Bail Court today, Saturday July 24,2021 before Her Worship, Justice of the Peace Sheree Scribner where he was quickly released on a $500 no deposit bail with conditions:

  • -do not attend Sioux Lookout except for court
  • -reside in his apartment in the 100 block of Court Street South in Thunder Bay
  • -no weapons
  • -not be outside his home with alcohol in his body

His next court appearance is August 24,2021 in Sioux Lookout

DEAFY has a very long criminal record

  • 2001-assault, breach court order
  • 2002-break & enter, assault X 2, fail to comply
  • 2004-robbery with violence
  • 2007-assault with a weapon
  • 2009-aggravated assault, assault with a weapon
  • 2010-assault with weapon, fail to attend court,breach of bail
  • 2012-possession of weapons, impaired driving
  • 2014-MANSLAUGHTER

A 45 year old LEO WHITECROW of Seine River was found murdered on November 2, 2012 at a hotel room in Fort Frances.

In November 2013 PETER JOHN DEAFY of Seine River was criminally charged with the second degree murder of LEO WHITECROW.

In 2014 DEAFY plead guilty to manslaughter and received a 5 year prison sentence of which he served only 2/3 of that time.

DEAFY moved to Thunder Bay after his release from prison and resides at an apartment in the 100 block of Court Street South
