CHRONICLE JOURNAL AND SODIUM HYDROIXIDE AND YOU

CHRONICLE JOURNAL AND SODIUM HYDROIXIDE AND YOU

Leaky Pipes Thunder Bay

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~~  October 29, 2020  (LSN)  The Chronicle-Journal has been strangely silent on sodium hydroxide. The silence of the CJ mirrors the refusal of the city to say word one about the problem.

When the city refuses to talk, and council members refuse to talk, that is the signal for a free press to step up.

The city will comment, after it has decided what measure to take and has developed a communications strategy to advance it. I predict the position the city takes and the communications strategy it employs will both enjoy the full support of the Chronicle Journal.

I further believe the city will say it is following "the science", and will leave it to the affected property owners to "prove" that sodium hydroxide damaged their buildings. It is clear enough to me, which is to say in my opinion, based on my own research, that the balance of probabilities suggest the city has poisoned our pipes.

And there will be no accountability.

Taxpayers and ratepayers will be, as they are now, uninformed and alone.
