12th ANNUAL WAUSAU MARATHON WAUSAU

WAUSAU, WISCONSIN August 20th

WAUSAU, WISCONSIN  ~~~~  August 17, 2022 (LSNews)    Marathon Park will be the Start/Finish line for the 12th annual Wausau Marathon and Half Marathon. The Marathons will take place Saturday August 20,2022 with the singing of the National Anthem and Color Guard at 6:50am and the race starting at 7:00 am.

“Once again we will be reaching our Goal of 500 runners”, Co-Race Directors Jodi Maguire & Nick Ockwig expressed. "We have established ourselves as one of the final qualifying races around the country for the Boston Marathon, which brings runners from all over the country to participate."

The Marathon & Half Marathon will have runners from the states of Florida, Texas, Tennessee, New York, California, and many others.

“It’s a weekend where we get to showcase what great Hotels, Restaurants, Shopping, Attractions and people we have in the Greater Wausau Area”, stated Ockwig.

"This Marathon celebrates both community and volunteers coming together to provide athletes with another quality event the Greater Wausau area can be proud of." said Maguire.

The 26.2-mile Wausau Marathon & 13.1 Marathon courses wind through Wausau, Weston, Kronenwetter, Rothschild, and Rib Mountain, and is certified by USA Track & Field for distance. Pace Setters will be running in their respective time slots to help keep runners on time and pace.

Racing begins at 7:00 am in Marathon Park. The public is welcome to cheer for our athletes from the park or along the course. Bib pickup will take place on Friday August 19th at Marathon Park under the tent from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm.

We are excited to be working with myTEAM TRIUMPH again in 2022. This has become a tradition with the Wausau Marathon, and we are proud to have the organization choose our event to participate in.

    COOK COUNTY, MINNESOTA  ~~~~~sEPEMBER 16, 2022 (LSNews)  The North Shore Health Care Foundation (NSHCF) will be awarding its final round of 2022 grant funds this fall. Applications for Foundation funding for projects that work toward a healthy community for all are due Saturday, Oct. 1 by 4 pm.

    The Foundation works to address gaps in health care and community health-related needs in Cook County. A total of $34,000 has been budgeted for in the 2022 NSHCF budget to help fund community organizations and programs that contribute to equitable health care and healthy living in Cook County this year, through the semi-annual community grant program.
