THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~ May 26, 2020 (LSN) On Monday May 24, 2020 at 3:44 pm, a call was made to 911 regarding a truck crash into a homeowner’s yard in the 4600 block of Oliver Road.
Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers responded quickly to the crash. Officers arrived to find a Dodge Dakota truck that had gone through a ditch and crashed into a boulder in the homeowner’s yard.
Further investigation revealed that the driver had gone to pick up his father at the Thunder Bay Hospital. As they were travelling down Oliver Road, the father was in the passenger seat arguing with his son about why he was late. He was very upset and grabbed his son’s arm while he was driving.
The truck left the road and crashed. The vehicle sustained significant damage and most likely will be a write-off.
The passenger and driver survived the crash with no significant injuries.
Thunder Bay Police arrested and charged 56 year old HENRY CONTIO of Thunder Bay.
He’s been charged with:
CONTIO spent the night at the Thunder Bay Police Station on Balmoral Street.
GELMO appeared by phone this morning in Thunder Bay Bail Court before His Worship, Justice of the Peace Marcel Donio.
Provincial Crown Attorney Stella Vallelunga consented to the release of CONTIO with conditions.
CONTIO was released from custody and his next court appearance is August 4, 2020.
