National Federation of Independent Business Endorses Lewis

National Federation of Independent Business Endorses Lewis

as Pro-Small Business Candidate

EAGAN, MINNESOTA  October 14, 2020  (LSN)   Today, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) announced their endorsement of U.S. Senate candidate Jason Lewis, citing his “proven record of supporting pro-small business legislation.” Minneapolis, St Paul  Minnesota

“We have no doubt that Jason Lewis will be a true advocate for Minnesota’s small businesses in the U.S. Senate,” said Mike Hickey, NFIB’s Minnesota State Director. “He has a proven record of supporting pro-small business legislation and earned a 100% NFIB voting record in the United States House of Representatives. He also understands the issues that our members care about firsthand as a former small business owner himself. On behalf of our members in Minnesota, we are proud to endorse Jason Lewis for election to the U.S. Senate.”

In a statement, Lewis said, "I am proud to have the endorsement of the NFIB. The work we did in the 115th Congress, including the tax cuts I helped pass, led to the best economy in American history, and I look forward to continuing this progress in the Senate. This is especially important as we recover from the pandemic. We must lift once and for all the onerous lockdown measures that have suffocated businesses of all sizes and continue to push direct COVID relief to help businesses get back on their feet—something my opponent Senator Tina Smith has blocked three times now. Minnesota employers and employees deserve better!

“Being a champion for our small and independent business community also has personal significance to me. I grew up working for the family business, Lewis Motor Supply, Inc., and later took it over along with my sisters as it was passed down the family line. That experience cemented in me the importance of small businesses in our communities. They are one of our most crucial American institutions, and I look forward to being their biggest supporter in the U.S. Senate.”
