THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~ May 29, 2020 (LSN) On Wednesday, May 27, 2020 a call was made to Thunder Bay Police after a woman was allegedly choked with a belt.
Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers arrived to investigate and as a result, they arrested 27 year old KEVIN GILES MAMAKWA.
MAMAKWA spent the evening in a jail cell at the Thunder Bay Police Station and appeared by audio before His Worship, Justice of the Peace Bruce Leaman in Bail Court.
MAMAKWA is criminally charged with:
Provincial Crown Attorney Katrina Van Kessel is not consenting to MAMAKWA’S release.
MAMAKWA is in a reverse onus position where he will need to prove why he should be released. He has several outstanding charges.
His lawyer Gilbert Labine was late calling into court, but when he did call in, he requested that the matter be put over so he can prepare for a bail hearing.
MAMAKWA was transported to the Thunder Bay Jail where he awaits a bail hearing.
