Superior, Wisconsin - September 7, 2019  (LSN)  The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department will host internationally recognized world music artists the Om Shalom Trio for its University Recital Series on Tuesday, September 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Webb Recital Hall.

Featuring Abhik Mukherjee (sitar), Jessie Reagen Mann (cello), and Ranendra Das (tabla) this group of award-winning artists draw on rhythmic and melodic aspects from their Far Eastern and Middle Eastern roots to create a unique sound blending Indian, Western Classical and folk music. The sitar, cello and tabla of the Om Shalom Trio harmoniously bring together the music of different cultures and traditions.

Om Shalom Trio members have performed at venues all over the world including Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Metropolitan Museum of Art, University of Virginia, Chhandayan Center for Indian Music and Brandeis University. As seasoned educators, they have led workshops in many diverse communities and Universities. Om and Shalom are synonymous with Peace and Sacred, and inspiration for the original compositions of the Om Shalom Trio.
