All 3 COVID-19 Vaccines Available this Week

Events at Community Center, Lutsen Town Hall, North Shore Health

COOK COUNTY, MINNESOTA  ~~~~~~ April 12, 2021  (LSN)  There will be three different vaccination events happening throughout Cook County this week

  • Wednesday, April 14:  Event for ages 18-plus using the Johnson & Johnson one-dose vaccine from 12:45-5 p.m. at the Lutsen Town Hall (116 Caribou Trail, Lutsen)
  • Thursday, April 15: Event for ages 16-plus using the Pfizer two-dose vaccine from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at North Shore Health (515 Fifth Ave. West, Grand Marais) *16- and 17-year-old community members must have a parent or guardian present with them at the time of vaccination
  • Thursday, April 15: Event for ages 18-plus using the Moderna two-dose vaccine from 8 a.m.-4:45 p.m. at the Cook County Community Center (317 Fifth Ave. West, Grand Marais) *this event is full, there is currently a waitlist

Including all three events, there will be a total of 210 first doses and 300 second doses administered throughout the county. This is the first week that the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine is available to the community, and the first week that there will be an event held on the west end of  Cook County. 

All three vaccines (Johnson & Johnson, Moderna and Pfizer) offer excellent protection from severe disease due to COVID-19.

Registration for the North Shore Health and Lutsen Town Hall events opens at 8 a.m. on Monday April 5 on the COVID-19 hub site at To complete the online registration, individuals will need to provide:

  • name, address, phone number and date of birth 
  • a valid email address

All individuals are automatically registered for their second dose appointment when receiving their first dose. Assistance is available for those who do not have internet access or need additional help signing up for an appointment. Call 218-877-8273 or email for support.  Registration is required for these and all future vaccine events. 

Registration for vaccination appointments on April 22 and 29 at the Community Center, using the Moderna vaccine, remains open. 

“If community members are struggling with the timing of vaccination events, need assistance with transportation or have questions about childcare to attend please reach out to the public health department,” Cook County Public Health Supervisor Grance Grinager said. “Our goal is to make vaccination as easy to access as possible, regardless of one’s circumstances.”

 The Cook County Public Health Department is available to answer any questions community members might have about the vaccine. The department will continue to post new information on local vaccination rollout each Monday via media release, including any new events that are scheduled.
