THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~~ May 18, 2022 (LSNews) We are pleased to announce the return of the Thunder Bay Chill USL League Two season is now a reality. After a two-year absence due to complications as we navigated the pandemic, the Chill will look to put out another formidable team to continue where they left off in a dominant fashion.
Head Coach Giovanni Petraglia has worked effortless hours in the off-season to ensure the team will produce results in 2022. Over eighteen players are arriving from around the globe which will also be joined by eight other local players. “It is early in camp, but nonetheless I am liking what I see. There is much work to be done and the annual friendlies with Winnipeg Lions will be a good first test,” replied Petraglia.
The Thunder Bay Chill will host the Winnipeg Lions this Saturday at 7:00pm at the newly renovated [email protected] Park. The teams will complete the double header on Sunday at 1:00pm. “We welcome the opportunity to come back to our home field at Chapples after many years. The field is remarkable, and I believe it will be considered one of the premier grass fields in the league,” states Chill Executive Director, Tony Colistro.
The Chill was forced to move out of Chapples due to poor drainage and a poor growing season. Since that time, the City of Thunder Bay has invested funds to ensure all high-level games from all soccer Clubs in the community will have the venue that is required.
Season tickets can now be purchased on-line at www.thunderbaychill.com until Sunday May 22 or purchased 1 hour before game time. For prices and league schedule, please visit our website.
