100th Anniversary
THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~~ July 5, 2021 (LSN) The Friends of Chippewa Park are challenging all Thunder Bay youngsters to ‘chalk’ their favourite part of Chippewa Park, submit a photo along with their contact information and be eligible for a cash prize.
100th Anniversary Co-Chair, Cathy Sawicki indicated that because there remain restrictions on the number of people that can gather in a public space, “The Friends of Chippewa Park decided that in order to help celebrate the actual 100th anniversary on July 15, that we would invite children and teens to draw their favourite picture of the Park on their driveway or sidewalk.”
“Will it be the Carousel, the pavilion, the playground or the beach, or even an animal that used to be in the Wildlife Exhibit? Take a photo of your drawing and send it to [email protected] along with your name, address, phone number and age” said Co-Chair, Linda Lafontaine.
There will be prizes for the best drawings for ages 7 and under, 8 to 12 and 13 to 16. First prize in each category will receive $75, second prize $50 and third prize will receive $25.
The Chippewa Chalk Challenge will run until July 14. Winners will be chosen by The Friends of Chippewa Park on the anniversary day of July 15.
