A Stitch in Time  Quilt Exhibition

Dryden & District Museum

DRYDEN, ONTARIO ~~~  November 25, 2021 (LSNews)  This is an exciting new partnership between the Dryden & District Museum and the Sunset Country Quilters Guild, creating the exhibit “A Stitch in Time”, on display at the Museum.

This exhibit will be on display from Wednesday, December 1st to February 22nd. From December to January, the exhibit will feature Christmas quilts, the quilts will change for the new year with the exhibit featuring different quilts from January to February.

The Dryden & District Museum continues to follow safety recommendations of the Province of Ontario and the Northwestern Health Unit. Schedule your visit with Museum staff by calling 807-223-4671. Masks or face coverings are required to be worn during your visit.

“Sunset Country Quilters Guild is a group of dedicated ladies who create with cloth. We are inspired by our environment whether it is nature, family, a love of colour and theme, or a great pattern, and we finish this off with something beautiful”, said Trish Cooke, Secretary of the Sunset Country Quilters Guild.

The Dryden & District Museum continues to follow safety recommendations of the Province of Ontario and the Northwestern Health Unit. SAULT SAINTE MARIE, MICHIGAN   January 6, 2022  (LSNews)  War Memorial Hospital is currently experiencing a steady increase in patient volumes. “At this time, we are at capacity and so are many hospitals across the State” said Marla Bunker, CNO/COO War Memorial Hospital. The War Memorial Emergency Department will continue to see and evaluate patients, but wait times may be prolonged for non-emergent cases. All patients will be triaged upon arrival to War Memorial.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~  January 6, 2022 (LSNews) In contrast to the dry conditions observed in November, weather and water supplies to Lakes Superior and Michigan-Huron were wetter than average in December. Lake Superior water levels remain below the seasonal long-term average while Lake Michigan-Huron water levels remain above the seasonal long-term average. Lake Superior outflows continue to be set in consideration of water levels upstream and downstream.
