Executive Suites
Located on the second, third and fourth floor overlooking the Sleeping Giant. Each suite has its own separate living and sleeping area with two queen size beds. Suites have up to date amenities such as coffee maker, hair dryers, iron and ironing board, fridge and microwave.

Junior Suites
Ideal for the corporate traveler, this room has its own separate bedroom with a queen size bed, 27” TV and a complimentary bathrobe to use during your stay. The livingroom area has a sofa, 27’ TV and a large working desk. Amenities also included are coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing boards, fridge and microwave.
             

Standard Rooms
Rooms are furnished with either two double beds or one queen size. All of our standard rooms are equipped with fridges, coffee makers and hairdryers.
             

Jacuzzi Suites
Three beautiful Jacuzzi suites have a breath taking view of the harbour and city lights. All three rooms are furnished with a queen size bed and French doors that lead you into a two person Jacuzzi. The living room area is furnished with a sofa, fridge, coffee maker and TV in both areas with 2 complimentary bathrobes to be used during your stay with us. 

 

 

 

Our History

 

The Prince Arthur Waterfront Hotel & Suite's old-world charm and hospitality are as enticing as the legendary sleeping giant it overlooks. The hotel, built as a world famous C.N.R hotel in 1911 is located on the harbour front in Thunder Bay and offers all the amenities of a full service hotel from an ideal downtown location.

The Prince Arthur Hotel, officially opened March 14, 1911, $850,000 later. It was described as one of the best furnished and appointed hotels on the continent. (see  photos at bottom of this page)

Today the Prince Arthur can be described as the only hotel in Thunder Bay that can offer a spectacular view of the Sleeping Giant.

As tales of old are spun, one can enjoy the hotel’s recent updates. It’s newer interior meets the needs of its corporate and traveling clientele without compromising its century old charm.  We are committed in making every effort to ensure our guest’s stay is comfortable and relaxing.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~  October 8, 20212 (LSNews)  The Apollo, a long-running venue in Thunder Bay, ON, is facing imminent closure and is seeking to raise money to save the space.

The campaign notes that the owners, mother Constantina Stathopoulos and daughter Sheila Stathopoulos, were victims of fraud in the 2000s. The two have also faced medical struggles: Sheila had stage 3 ovarian cancer and experiences daily chemotherapy fatigue, while Constantina has Alzheimer's.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~  October 5, 2021 (LSNews)  Lake Superior and Lake Michigan-Huron have both continued their seasonal declines in September. As a result of the drier than average conditions, water levels on Lake Superior have gone below the seasonal long-term average for the first time since April 2014. Lake Michigan-Huron water levels have declined significantly from the record-high levels observed in recent years, but water levels remain above the seasonal long-term average. Lake Superior outflows continue to be set in consideration of water levels upstream and downstream.
