PROFESSIONAL WOMEN GIVE A FROCK

ABOUT PALLIATIVE CARE AND GRIEF

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO,  January 8, 2020   (LSN)   Once again, an enthusiastic group of like-minded women who “give a frock” about our community have joined forces to host a unique event at Autohome in support of Hospice Northwest

“Who Gives A Frock?” is being held on Thursday February 13th, 2020 at 7pm at Autohome Paints on Balmoral. Dave Jones, owner of Auto Home Paints, says “this is our third time hosting this fantastic event in our community.  Each time, the committee works hard to ensure we provide an opportunity for women to get out and enjoy a social evening with friends for an important cause.  This year, I am pleased to open our doors to Hospice Northwest.  I am thrilled the funds will support palliative care and grief counselling for individuals in our community.”

In the past, this highly anticipated event has raised over $40,000.00 for local charities. In the past, funds have been donated to the Children Centre Foundation and the George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation.  Cherie Kok, Executive Director of Hospice Northwest is excited to be the recipient of the funds for this year’s event. “A third-party fundraising event is a gift to our organization.  We are overwhelmed by the support of this group of women.  How we die matters and we are thrilled to bring exposure to the work we do in Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario.”  Mary Anne Comuzzi, committee member and strong supporter of Hospice Northwest states, “This group of women have united to highlight our local fashion and entertainment scene as well as encouraging women to purge their closets for an important cause.”

This event will feature a preloved boutique filled with an array of dresses from casual to formal.  Dresses will be available to purchase with all funds going directly to Hospice Northwest. In addition, there will be opportunities to win prizes donated by local businesses and a fun Chinese coin purse grab that was incredibly popular at the 2018 event.

It will be a fun evening to dress up, socialize and experience fashion, food, drink, door prizes and more. It is an exclusive event with only 175 tickets being sold. Over half the tickets are already reserved so get your tickets NOW.

Tickets available online through Eventbrite or in person at Hospice Northwest as well as Auto Home Paints. Donations of gently used dresses can be dropped off by January 31st at Hospice Northwest or Autohome.
