workshops for homeowners on septic systems and private wells.

LAKE COUNTY, MINNESOTA  - October 2, 2019  (LSN)  This free class will cover the basics of how septic systems function, how to test your well water, and how to protect your well from contamination. Information on proper maintenance of both septic systems and private drinking water systems will be covered to help property owners protect their investments and the environment. A representative from Lake County will be present to answer any questions you may have related to the local ordinance and related programs.

Lake County Soil & Water Conservation District, in cooperation with Lake County, the University of Minnesota, and the MN Department of Health, with funding from NOAA and the MN DNR Office for Coastal Management, is offering free workshops for homeowners on septic systems and private wells.

This free class will cover the basics of how septic systems function, how to test your well water, and how to protect your well from contamination. Information on proper maintenance of both septic systems and private drinking water systems will be covered to help property owners protect their investments and the environment. A representative from Lake County will be present to answer any questions you may have related to the local ordinance and related programs.

FREE well testing! The Minnesota Department of Health will fund well testing of arsenic, nitrate, and coliform bacteria for all workshop attendees. More details will be given at the event.

One workshop was held yesterday, October 1st in Finland, MN at the Clair Nelson Community Center. We had 30 people in attendance. The remaining times and locations are as follows:

Beaver Bay

Date: Wednesday, October 2nd

Time: 6-8 pm

Location: Beaver Bay Community Center, 711 MacDonald Avenue, Beaver Bay

Two Harbors

Date: Thursday, October 3rd

Time: 6-8 pm

Location: Two Harbors Law Enforcement Center, 613 3rd Avenue, Two Harbors
